Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take you to make this?
It took me 30 years to get this good at it, but seriously….
It depends, custom work takes a while, usually a few weeks. Most of my work is made production style, meaning I spend a day cutting a lot of glass, a day grinding and foiling, a day soldering and at the end of the week I’ve made quite a few pieces.
Do you do custom work?
Yes, I love bringing your ideas to life in stained glass. If you would like to learn more please check out the Custom Windows and Doors page or send me an email. Learn about ordering customer windows and doors.
How long will I take for you to make my custom piece?
Generally about 3 weeks but it depends on my schedule and your responsiveness.
Do you do repairs?
Yes, please send me an email with photos of the damaged piece and I can give you an idea of the cost.
Do you make the glass?
No, I can’t be good at everything.
Where do you get the glass?
Most of the glass I use is made in the USA. My favorite manufacturers are Kokomo Opalescent Glass Company in Kokomo Indiana and Youghiogheny Glass Company in Connellsville, PA. I am very fortunate to have a glass distributor with an enormous selection right across the street from my studio.
Where did you learn to make stained glass?
In 1991 I took a 30 hour class and got hooked. I set up a studio in my basement and kept practicing.
